The von Tiesenhausen family is one of the most notable aristocratic families associated with the history of the Latvian region. On November 2, 1630, King Gustav II Adolph of Sweden granted the manor to Major Hans Heinrich von Tiesenhausen, a Swedish freeman, and this family managed Liepupe Manor until 1726. During the von Tiesenhausen era, the manor experienced economic prosperity. Georg von Tiesenhausen died during a plague epidemic, leaving no heirs, and the manor was inherited by his sister, Anna Elisabeth von Meck.
