Gustavus Adolphus (1594–1632) — King of Sweden, also known as the “Lion King,” is regarded as a national hero of Sweden and is one of the most significant figures in Swedish history, with his influence on the country’s development still felt today. In 1630, during Swedish rule in Livonia, Gustavus Adolphus handed over the Liepupe Manor to the Swedish freeman Hans Henrik von Tiesenhausen, who was tasked with managing it as a knight’s manor. The manor could neither be pledged nor sold but could only be passed down through inheritance. After the last von Tiesenhausen passed away during a plague epidemic and left no heirs, the manor was inherited by his sister, Anna Elisabeth von Meck, marking the beginning of the von Meck family’s story at Liepupe Manor.
The room is located on the first floor of the Manor House and is one of the most sought-after rooms, featuring luxurious and beautiful interiors, including an antique cast-iron bathtub from which guests can enjoy views of the park and the lake. The room is classified as a Suite.
